i need help with ospf areas. we want to break up our network into different ospf areas: 4 major ones representing 4 campuses and a backbone that will go to another site for internet and other hosted/cloud stuff. this was suggested by our new cloud/service provider. we have one 'big' campus, that has about 30 closets and the rest have between 4 to 2. all 4 have their own cores. 3 campuses do L3 routing on the edge and another L2 (just messy planning over the years).
is it enough to just separate them by area wxyz or do i need to use stub/nssa/etc? most of our traffic is simple/straightforward, you're either going somewhere in the network or the internet. without going much more into detail is there a big advantage/disadvantage if i separate them the lazy way or do i need to use stub/nssa ? I'm reading this article about it and just need a bit of hand holding. TIA
