Need help explaining network installation standards to customer.

So I'm connecting IP cameras to a DVR via patchpanel and switch in a professinal enviroment.
I'd like to use installation cables from the patch panel to a socket and connect a patch cable to the camera for the last few feet. My customer has asked me to use premade patchcables, cut off the plug and connect it to the patch panel. To me this seems like a botch job, albeit it should work none the less. This job is very important to me, as it is a reference project which many potential high value client may see. Normally I'd argue, that installation cable is prone to breaking as it is stiffer than patch cables and therefore not suitable for loose installation. I'm not sure this is a valid argument for fixed cams.
Am I right about doing it this way and how would one explain this to a non IT customer please?
