Hello, So I have a very basic working knowledge of networking which seems to be becoming a problem.
I'm working with Windows Server 2016 for my DHCP server and an iscsi diskless boot software called CCboot.
I use it to push out Windows 10 images to about 50 clients ATM but my network is starting to slow to a crawl.
Right now I'm using a nighthawk x6 router paired with a central gigabit unmanaged switch (GS116NA)which then branches to identical switches which then goes to my nodes.
I'm wanting to at least get 10gbps to my central switch from my nas and also alleviate whatever is causing all my network instability as I add more nodes.
I imagine I'm going to be looking at enterprise level/prosumer level routers but I am not much of a networking buff. Is there a router out there that can serve my needs with modest research and config to a networking newbie?
I was researching the Ubiquiti Networks ER-8 Edgerouter 8 but I wanted to check in with you guys to see if you thought a better long term solution exists? I'm potentially looking to support upwards of 300-400 nodes all performing heavy duty 24/7 rendering workloads.
Thank you!
