I'm helping out in a project as best I can, but I'm not the designated network expert.
I'm connecting some Hirschmann industrial switches to a pair off Cisco Nexus 3524. On the Cisco side I have a vPC configured and on the Hirschmann side I have link-aggregation configured. This seems to establish fine.
Devices on the Hirschmann switch are connected and find their way to the core network.
I'm still struggling with configuring a trunk port (as Cisco calls it) with vlan tagging (as Hirschmann calls it), for now I'm using an access port.
Anyway, the Hirschmann switch is configured for in-band management and I've assigned the management network to the same VLAN as the connected devices.
I've so far not been able to reach the PowerMICE switch remotely. It seems I can't traverse management traffic across the vPC to the Cisco core.
A similar Hirschmann device works fine, but I've read the PowerMICE is also a router and I need to configure routing for me to be able to reach the switch for management.
I can't even find a manual for this device. Does anyone have any insight into this?
