Cyber security job expectation vs reality - Graduate question

hey im a network engineering student im progressing with my studies in the form of a programing degree ontop of my networking degree and there is going to be a recruiter for cyber sec in my college in the coming week , i wanted to ask what are the daily things that a cyber sec engineer would do?, a more inquizzitive question would be how would my day to day job change with more time/experiance as a security engineer.

I seen that its a constantly eveolving work enviromeant and then that its pretty repetative.....

There arent many reasources available for me to get a defentive answer about starting out in cyber sec like there is with developmeant.

I like the idea of being able to research on the job and apply it to a companies network but what are some of the realities of a cyber sec engineer on the job over what people say?

I need to make a decision soon weather i want to go into developmeant or go towards security since im going graduate with my network engineering BA and programing higher BA june 2019.

P.s i already have my ccna,ccna-s ,now completing ccna cyber ops in terms of network certs and exposure if it matters for the purpose of the question.
