(Xposted into r/ubiquiti) Please excuse me, I’m still fairly new to my Edgerouter X and am very much amateur in my networking skills.
That said- having the delightful Comcast 1tb data cap has been stressful. I seem to be blowing up my limits and have no idea how. I’m trying to do some monitoring of my bandwidth usage per device to see where it’s all going.
I’ve poked around the Traffic Analysis tab on my Edgerouter X but it doesn’t seem to have the info I want. Is there a way to log bandwidth usage per device on a daily and monthly level so I can see what devices may be causing the excessive usage? I’ve seen services such as observium that do such a thing, but that appears to be way overkill for my home network. I also can’t seem to make any long tracking sense out of the built in Traffic Analysis.
If anyone can point me in the right direction or tell me what you’ve done to do something similar, I would really appreciate it.
