Hey guys,
Last year I was thrust more into a full on IT support role that includes network support even though I have no background or training in that area. I've been floundering around, trying to learn it through books, but I'm a hands on learner. I need to see it in action particularly DHCP, DNS, routers and switches. I have active directory down pretty good and can troubleshooting network connection issues, but that's about it.
I was thinking about asking my employer if they would pay for me to get CCNA certification. I've also looked online and it appears that I could set up a Cisco home lab pretty cheap and play around with that.
Is this the best route to go as a beginner?
