Documenting a Tap Aggregation Infrastructure

Looking for recommendations/experiences on documenting a large tap aggregation infrastructure. Roughly 500 taps, tapping both TX and RX. Most of the circuits that will be tapped have a circuit identifier, but we don't really have a DCIM or an IPAM that could be overloaded to serve this purpose.

I could use Excel...but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on labeling or otherwise identifying the TX and RX ports and what not.
