I am a CCNA R&S certified network engineer with 4+ years of experience. I apply routing, switching related concepts and use ASA firewall as well in my project. I have enough time to study only 1 certification in the next 6 months. It is logical for a CCNA certified engineer to try and complete CCNP R&S next. However some of my colleagues tell me CCNA security is highly valued now as there are less engineers with security background/certification than engineers with R&S background & security is a booming field. I have also been told that learning network automation (like perl or python scripting) will be extremely useful if iam looking to switch jobs in future. So multiple sources have kind of confused me on what certification i should pursue next. So now i am divided on whether i should study CCNP R&S next or CCNA security or maybe even network automation? If you want to suggest any other option other than the ones i have mentioned, please feel free to as well.
