Not a networking expert in the least (electrical engineer), but I was hoping for someone with some Cisco ASA experience to let me know if what I am asking for is possible.
We have a firewall that is isolating two separate servers that need to share streaming data. This streaming data is in the form of a UDP broadcast. On a layer 3 switch, I am aware that the ip-helper command exists to accomplish this very task, but the only information I have found for ASAs is the use of the DHCP Relay functionality. My question is can this command be used for more than DHCP packets or is it data agnostic? I asked our network engineers about this and have gotten mixed responses. If not, does anyone have any suggestions for a configuration that will allow us to maintain network isolation while having this capability? I'd prefer not to move one server or another to the same network. Thanks for the help!
