I need to buy a rack for my office (42u or 45u) and know nothing about racks. It will be filled with networking gear, some AV gear like a DSP and video router, and some power amps. Nothing too deep, I don’t figure.
I’m torn on whether or not it should be enclosed, for the sake of taking a nice picture or showing a client if they really want to look, but the cost doesn’t necessarily seem worth it, versus a far cheaper 4 post rack. The door to the room would be locked anyway.
So does anyone have any pointers on picking out a suitable rack, or any recommendations in that size range, with or without sides?
