Stubborn Wi-Fi user?

Hey all,

I have been working on my wireless network after ordering an Ekahau sidekick and the CWNA book. I've learned a good bit and now actually understand some of the numbers I see in the WLC. I have 5520 WLCs and 50+ 1852 Aironet APs in my environment. I plan on upgrading to 8.3.x due to the case study I have seen with Apple devices having better wireless experiences with this version of code (we are an IOS and MAC OS shop), setting TX and channel to auto (we have half auto and half manually set for some reason), and doing a site survey and analyzing the spectrum afterwards.

Currently, I have someone who is exclusively wireless (by choice) and he sits across from me, and is on the same Zoom meetings as me. He swears up and down he's having flakey internet, but his audio and video never misses a beat (and this is Zoom, so this is not local traffic). I check the WLC and see he's been associated to the same AP for the entire day. I see -45 dBm which is fantastic. I see low channel utilization (he is an 802.11AC client using a MacBook pro by the way, and I see a low interference percentage. I fire up Ekahau and see there are no competing APs on the same channel with a dBM greater than -72 (I would like this number to be a little worse, but it does fluctuate a bit lower). I check our monitoring and we are not maxing out our internet circuit either.

What in the world can I do for this guy? He uses a bluetooth headset if it matters and a model older MacBook pro than whatever I use. I have no idea what he's doing on his laptop, it should just be music (not while we're on the video call though), and coding stuff with Kubernets, Puppet, whatever. I know he left his computer on for 26 days but swears he rebooted. I just can only see what I see and it checks out fine. I can hope the code upgrade helps a bit, but other than that I have no idea what his deal is. Any thoughts?
