New OpenMesh WLAN breaks connection to RDS on handheld scanner at first handoff.

My networking game is weak. Our MSP suggested getting OpenMesh AP's for our warehouse. I love the cloud portal and all the UI makes sense, but when the forklift drivers take the handheld scanners(MC9200), log in to an RDS running our ERP, the second they get to a point where it handsoff, it breaks the connection. Is this a setting on WLAN or the handhelds? I've tried changing every setting I can think of on both for over a month and I still can't get any improvement. It's driving me(and them) insane. Any help is appreciated.
