Can you use a paloalto or cisco asa firewall to implement a reverse proxy?

We either deploy palo alto or cisco asa firewalls, and my coworkers love to deploy these servers that (in their mind) require reverse proxies. However in order to do this they buy some software (wingate) that first came out in '95 and deploy that to a server in the dmz in order to create a reverse proxy to the server LAN. I think surely modern firewalls have this ability by now?
