We had a power outage at one of our remote offices last week. When power was restored, a couple of routers came online with no issues. The core and access switches did not come online.
Someone on site sent pictures of the switches and all were up and running, but we were unable to access them. We could not see past the routers.
Someone had to go to the site, and console into the switches. The switch config was there but the VLANs were down/down. Once we enabled them again, full connectivity was restored.
We have an old Cisco 2800 as a term server, but since it's connected to the core switches, we could not reach it. Is there an option/solution that would allow us to have console access to the switch core/access in a situation like this?
