I've been in Networking for 17 years and like many of you it's not something I fell into. This was something I found super interesting and decided to pursue a career in. However, as much as I love being in "config t" I'm realizing that the older I get the less I want to keep up with the technical nuance's of protocols and configurations. Recently I have been given the opportunity to obtain my Masters degree on the company's dime and I'm thinking that it would be a perfect opportunity to use it as a foundation for the second half of my career in Networking/IT but with a lesser technical role. Dare I say, management? My question to my peers here in /r/networking. What would an appropriate curriculum path be for someone to move into less technical role and more of a management/leadership role. I have seen programs for a Masters in Information Technology but the classes seem technical. Should I be focusing more on a traditional MBA. No doubt many of you have obtain higher education, please share you stories.
