Should Network Engineers really be considered "engineers"?

I understand we fit the definition of an engineer: "people who invent, design, analyze, build and test machines, systems, structures and materials to fulfill objectives and requirements while considering the limitations imposed by practicality, regulation, safety, and cost."

I didn't receive a bachelor's degree in Engineering and my brother did. He's definitely an "engineer", yet I feel like I'm not because I didn't go through hell in college with advanced math & science courses (and other engineers who did will tell you the same thing).

Just wondering what the general consensus here is.. Thanks
