Huawei?

I don't see them talked about much on here, and when I do it seems to be overwhelmingly bad.

What's the real deal with them? All the market share analysis reports out there seem to unanimously agree that Huawei is the #2 big dog on the market, second only to Cisco?

I find that shocking, since I never really heard of them before, never seen their gear in action... and honestly don't even know how to pronounce their company's name.

They also seem to have done really well this past year and increased I think around 39% from 2016 to 8.5% market share up from 6.5 (source: IDC) and had a 41.7% increase in revenue.

I'm guessing they're mostly an Asia/Pacific market? I just found it odd as I'm doing a report for work on the market share of different vendors and not only heard about them for the first time, but discovered their in 2nd place? Very bizarre.
