Was not sure if I should post in the sysadmin section, but since it is vlan related i'll start here. Having a problem extending new vlans to vmware.
Just as a test, I have a new vlan attached to the top of rack switch. I have a physical server attached to that vlan connected to the switch as well. All is well in the physical world.
On that same switch is our two shared trunks to our c7000 HP blade server. Jumped into virtual connect and added the new vlan under ethernet connections. It shows correctly under the external connections page. I do not however see the vlan listed under Server connections tab. All vlans are in the default NAC group.
Jumped into vmware 6 host and defined the new vlan. Assigned a vm to that vlan and set a static ip and gateway for that vm. VM shows limited connectivity. I'm not receiving any packets inbound but is sending packets.
I really think it may be related to virtual connect, but not sure where the problem is...
