Max number of switches in stack

Hi Networkers,

What do you think about stack switches that are built of maximum allowed physical units. In my LAN I have stack of 9 WS-C3750-48PS-S (very old I know :)) . And I wonder what would be better for performance. 3x3 stack or maybe current configuration.
