I got /48 and I am in a process of creating blocks of /56. I am giving each network that I have a /64 - this includes my point-to-point, ospf network, etc - to keep the design simple. I also have assigned a /64 for loopbacks, but each node's prefix is going to be a /128 or out /64.
My question now is, how do should I assign the ipv6 address of my network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc)?
Should I statically assign them just like in ipv4?
What about the link-local, should I leave it and let it use its mac address or should I statically assign it?
Also, my end users ipv6. How should I hand out ipv6 for them? My environment is BOYD. I really don't want to use eui-64 for my end-users. What end users are Windows, OSX, Linux, iOS, Android devices
