We have about 140 Juniper EX 2200 switches. From time to time we need to track down a physical port something is connected to.
I could log into each switch and run a:
show ethernet-switching table | match <MACADDRESS>
On each switch, but that would take a LONG time. Even if I know what school a device is at, that's still like 20 switches I need to login to.
I'm wondering if there is a way to maybe run this command on a cron, into a txt file and then push it over SCP to a repo. Or maybe something with syslog?
We've used JAID in the past to help with this, but that feels kinda clunky. It'd be nice to just have a directory of updated txt files somewhere where I could run some greps against it to find what I need.
I'd like to hear if anyone has any ideas on this.
