Nexus 9k EVPN with vPC

Hey all,

I posted about this a couple of months ago and received some great feedback. I'm finally looking to set this up and I have a couple of questions that I cant seem to find the answers too.

https://www.reddit.com/r/networking/comments/9sm7d2/nexus_9k_vxlan_as_a_dci/

I'm looking to setup VXLAN with MP-BGP EVPN between two data centres that each contain a pair of Nexus 93180 switches in a vPC topology. The DCs will be connected using 2 x 1GbE p2p circuits. This is very similar to the following

http://www.hospitableit.com/howto/dci-using-vxlan-with-mp-bgp-evpn-and-ingress-replication-on-a-nexus-9k/

Although the poster of the above has this working with Nexus 9000v, has anyone deployed a similar topology with real hardware? Also the Nexus 9ks in each DC will be providing L3 for end hosts. When using EVPN, Is it mandatory to use AnyCast for the L3 gateways on each pair of Nexus 9ks or can I use traditional FHRP such as HSRP?

Thanks
