File trasfer speed: Dell R710 vs HPE DL20 Gen10

Hello,

I am replacing my Dell R710 to a HPE DL20 Gen10.

I am not satisfied from file transfer performance of DL20 and I am running a simple test.

One folder of 2.6GB containing more than 8500 files. Many small files inside. Copy from the server to a windows 10 client with i219V, domain member of R710

R710: Windows 2011 SBS bare metal, PERC H700 SAS6 300GB 15K, no virtualization enable. Single 1gbs connection on BCM5709c ~1:35 (LSO=0)

DL20:

i. Hyper-V server 2019. VMs of windows 10 and windows 2019 essentials tested. Samsung 970 pro on pcie adapter, on board BCM5720 and X550T2 LSO=0 and max buffers. Single 1gbe connection, Times form 2:20 to 3:00

ii. Windows 2016 Standard bare metal. Samsung 970 pro on pcie adapter, LSO=0, max buffers, Single 1gbe connection X550T2: ~1:50

BIOS profile of DL20 was "virtualization: max performance" in both scenarios.

Side note: X550 seems to have an issue when hyper-v is enabled on the server. Drivers cannot install succesfully (hardware nmi error). Seems an issue with DL20 bios. Also I cannot find SR-IOV option in DL20 bios. I have to put back original hpe cpu and memmory in order to be sure that those are not the issue.

Why R710 is faster than DL20??? It is driving me mad!!
