Hey guys!
Basically, currently I have a Cisco EPC3925 connected to my UPC (Virgin Media) broadband. Cisco router / modem combo in turn feeds 2 Ethernet devices, a phone line and a Netgear WGR614v10 over Ethernet. The Netgear router provides WiFi only, I have turned off Cisco WiFi for reasons I explain later.
Anyway, I get adequate wired speed, but WiFi is capped at 25 Mbps max. I know this not a maximum speed, as with Cisco WiFi I get up to 40 Mbps. The problem with Cisco is that its internal wifi is very unstable and can drop to 0.5 Mbps. I think it has horrible latency as well. That is why I have disabled it.
Now, I have not changed any settings in either routers, except maybe I have disabled DHCP in Netgear (otherwise it wouldn't work like that right?).
Both routers are in Router Mode. Do I need Bridged Mode for this setup?
Is my wifi capped because of Netgear, i.e. do I need a router upgrade? This model max speed should be 54 Mbps, but I guess it's just theoretical value.
I would appreciate any help!
