Converting VPLS with SVIs design from IOS to IOS-XR

I have been tasked with migrating an existing design/configuration which uses VPLS to hand off an L2 connection to customers on 7600s/IOS over to a design which uses NCS5500/IOS-XR. Currently the customer L3 gateway is an HSRP address configured on SVIs (Vlan interfaces) on the 7600s. The SVIs are placed into a VFI to enable them to communicate across the BGP/MPLS domain - enabling the HSRP communications. I am looking for thoughts on how best to replicate this setup on IOS-XR given that SVIs are not a thing on the NCS. I'm assuming a BVI, but cannot find any support for any first hop redundancy protocols. Any additional thoughts would also be appreciated. Thanks all!
