Apologies as I am fiber ignorant. We have a piece of equipment coming into our network that requires a 100BASE-FX-LC connection. The plan is to connect this to our existing PA-3020 firewall using one of the available SFP ports. Can anybody confirm this is possible? I've read that gigabit sfp only operate in 1000mbit mode, but is that determined by the transceiver, or the SFP port? The hardware reference only states 'Eight Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) 1 Gbit/s ports for network traffic.'
