There was a huge spike in traffic ( 1000+ requests for the the homepage) on a website I manage (for work) that all originated from within the our workplace network within a few minutes today.
I didn't build the site, it's a CMS managed by another company that I provide minor data updates for.
What kind of attack could this be? The site normally gets around 30 hits a day. Sorry if this isn't the right place to post (let me know). I am not sure what can or should be done here.
