Can I setup rdns in a remote server that acts as a VPN to run a mail server

Odd question I know but I currently have a custom built server at a local company that I use for email / web server. I understand I can switch company's very easily but I don't want to. Currently I don't have a static up address and am not able to get rdns setup because of that. It's not possible for me to get one either unless I move to a different host.

So my question is, if I bought a cheap vps that offered a static and rdns could I setup something like openvpn and run all my mail/web server traffic through the VPS and be able to have rdns that is offered on the VPS on my local server?

Most will probably say just switch hosts and while it would actually be cheaper I am really set on staying where I am. Any suggestions?
