My job currently uses a bunch of external hardrives to work on different projects across a bunch of computers. Best way to put and access projects on a network?

We edit photo and video so the file sizes in total for each job can be over 100gb (raw mp4 files etc). As of right now we assign jobs to random named external usb3.0 drives and work off of that. This can be annoying especially if someone else is using the drive.

I'm wondering what the best course of action is to have everything upload to one network or directory so all the employees on the network can just access it from their computers. Would this work out ?
