My customer is a Cisco shop. Running CTA9K's and CAT3850's. Using Cisco IP phones too, although they're old.
So, with maximum workforce working from home, a lot of their phones/access points are sitting idle. Is there is way to save power consumption here?
Shutting down ports is not an option. Although reading about it (I'm not a voice guy) I saw that IP phones turn their screens off if they're left idle. I'm not really sure if that saves power though.
Has anyone come across such a request?
What are some best practices to follow now that maximum workforce is working from home?
Thanks in advance.
