I've been in network engineering for several years now. I've even taken the CCNP SP courses through Advanced Services and worked in backbone engineering for a large provider. I've decided this is the field I want to be in, and I plan to take it to the next level. I'm looking to move towards PhD level education and want some advice. I want to eventually move into research, development, and highly advanced network systems design. So, I'm looking at the following:
- Complex System Design (Physical, Digital, and Social Systems)
- Physics, Algorithms/Mathematics, AI
- Some Electrical Engineering
- Information Theory & Quantum Information Theory
I hope you get the idea. I'm VERY good at what I do given the right environment, but I do have some learning disabilities. I need to start from the ground up in this quest so I need advice for Associates, BA, Masters. I'm considering my Associates/BA to be mostly in fundamentals like mathematics to prepare me for the higher levels of education.
