This is mainly for those running DHCPv6 and/or VPNs over IPv6.
A feature present in the major operating systems libraries that I never hear about is the ability to translate, for example
ABCD:10.0.0.1 to ABCD:A00:1
Even if the OS you are configuring (for example, a CISCO device) isn't able to translate, configuring an IP that translate to the device IPv4 with the local IPv6 suffix can be very useful for inventory purposes.
As a downside, doing this will limit you to only 32 of the 64 bits suffix address space. (so beware if you have more than 7 billion users in your network), and keeps you longer in the IPv4 mindset and architecture. But if you are using DHCPv6 you are probably already tied to IPv4 network architecture.
Personally I'm just terrified of IPv6 because I live in (S)pain
