The problem:
I have administrative access to a hypervisor with VMs. I do not have access to the physical network hardware. These VMs are on RFC 1918 private network space. We have some instances with f5 routing traffic and and providing outbound to the VMs sitting on private IPs. This works but it requires licenses and new ownership is wanting to get away from f5 (quite literally all it is used for - there has to be a good manageable alternative).
Initial research suggests pfsense or MikroTik - was wondering what experiences anyone may have with this. Thank you.
