Hey guys, huge complex is up and running. 64 Cams up. The complex is organized in rows, currently CAT6 is daisy chained and everything going to row 1 over a single gigabit, which doesn't well, haha. Each row has little POE switches, and I can uplink them into something better from there.
I want each row on its own fiber to row 1.
Row 1 has an HP 5900AF with 2x 40GbE QSFP+ available to it. The NVR itself is connected to it via RJ45. This needs to go out on the QSFP port to the other 6 to 8 rows. Each row has its own electrical room where I can house whatever is needed.
Each will will have what... A single SFP 10G with SC connectors that runs to row 1?
What's a good RJ45 switch that has an SFP uplink? (POE switches are already in place, so maybe I just need like 1 RJ45 gigabit to 1 SFP port?
Then when I have 6-8 OM3 or OM4 fiber cables going to row 1, what do I do? Do I need a switch of some sort or can I just use some sort of breakout cable from my 40GbE QSFP+ ? I prefer using another switch so I can put it in the electrical room in row 1, then in the special unit that's located within row 1 that houses the switches. Some sort of 8x SFP switch that has a single 40GbE QSFP+ uplink to connect to the 5900AF? Or maybe it'll be broken down to 10G or something. This is just cameras at the moment, I don't even need 10G at the moment, but dual gigabit isn't cutting it and copper isn't either.
Thank you!
