Hey friends!
What are your thoughts on best practices on SNMP trap handling for routers and switches?
At my workplace we had a discussion and have 2 options:
-
Activate all snmp traps that are possible on each device and let the monitoring tool filter what events are important (and which ones should raise Incidents)
-
Activate just the snmp traps that are interesting for us (our configs differ a lot today. We would need to define templates for each device model)
