Hi everyone,
First time posting here and just had what I hope will be a quick and easy question. I have been tasked with spinning up our company's new NPS server for wireless auth. We currently have three SSIDs and a NPS server built out on our old domain that we are in the process of decomming. Part of that is setting up a new NPS server on our new, current domain to move wireless off the old domain.
So far, I have done the following:
- built out the new NPS server on the new domain
- imported the new cert
- installed configured NPS role and basically copied the setup from the current NPS server (old domain NPS)
- logged in to the wireless lan controller and created a new SSID, copying one of the current SSIDs setting (since this new one will be a mimic of the current one)
- on the new NPS server, selected the option in NPS to register with AD
but... at the moment I am stuck since I do NOT see the new SSID showing up in available networks? I did make sure that the SSID is broadcast in the wireless lan controller :p
The only thing I haven't done yet, and I may sound like a fool as this may be super important, is a GPO that I see the old domain has called something like "Work Wireless". The settings on there seem similar to GPO's that were created in instructional videos I watched for setting up NPS. I guess my confusion was I thought even without a GPO set up that the SSID would populate as an available network to choose from on my laptop? And the laptop is domain joined. Thanks everyone!
