I would like to ask what is your opinion on short cables. I read conflicting reports on what is the minimum length a cat 6 should be.
My place is relocating soon and we will be getting new user access switches and brand new network cabinet.
To reduce cable clutter and cable slack, I was hoping to mount the patch panels and the switches one on top of another.
24p patch panel 48p switch 24p patch panel 24p patch panel 48p switch 24p patch panel (and so on...)
To achieve maximum tidiness, I was hoping to use 6” patch cables to connect the patch and the switch. Example below.
Would you be able advise if I should not be worried about the minimum length or perhaps I have to consider the length of the underlying cables behind the patch panel?
