Replacing Dell 5500 series: who should I be considering?

Hi networkers,

I'm looking at replacing my stack of 3 x Dell 5548P + 1 5548 switches at my SMB. Goals for my next switches would include

  • Stacked for ease of management/efficient port use and redundant links
  • PoE that can support .ax APs without compromise
  • >1Gig support to 24 endpoints- an upcoming remodeling project means I can run Cat6A to my Adobe CC license holders and move the video/PSD files to/from the server faster. Therefore, mGig unless there's an argument against it.
  • I wear all the possible IT hats, and I've never learned Cisco iOS. CLIs are the right tool for some tasks, but when you only touch them every X months because you're doing other stuff, the relearning curve to make sure you're not screwing up production config is harsh. I'm not ashamed of wanting a usable GUI.
  • No ongoing subscriptions

On my radar so far

  • Aruba: I've never known anyone who regretted ProCurves or Aruba, and they're my leading contender
  • Meraki: Simple interface, use them for router,, but business isn't a fan of "pay forever or have brick"
  • Ubiquiti: Love them at home and a 24 port install I manage, but no backplane= use most SFP+ for limited uplinks, no mGig = running copper SFP+ for endpoints
  • Ruckus/Broade: I'm a fan of my Ruckus wireless gear, but the Arris/Brocade hot potato game leaves me hesitant.

What else is worthy of evaluation? I don't do anything advanced: configure some vLANs, LLDP puts the VoIP phones in the right network, that's about it.
