Overseas Latency Advice

We have 3 main offices/datacenters, with two of them being trimmed down to a single legacy app (local win32 client/win server/sql setup) that make them necessary. The offices are in Chicago, Amsterdam, and Singapore. We're trying to just leave Amsterdam up, while the local clients at these other offices connect to the Amsterdam for the server/sql components there, thus consolidating our data and allowing us to centralize. The problem is latency seems to be a prob- we are getting about 150ms on a 500mbit connection (and have also tried our 20mb mpls) both with bad app performance (the app is latency sensitive). I realize we're approaching the limits of the distance.

Any suggestions?

Anyone think Riverbed or some other WAN optimization is worth looking at? Cloud considerations?

We would go with hosting it as a Citrix app but the legacy app requires local ability to drag and drop to/from the app so it wouldn't be a workable solution.
