I needed a replacement for a switch in our network (that someone dropped while cleaning the rack). I found Procurve J9148A switch lying in the IT storage room and I'm planning to use it as a temporary switch until the new one comes. The problem with it is that it doesn't have a standard AC power connector, but has a notch in the middle.
I know that the cable might have a different temperature rating or something like that but I don't think it's a problem because we never had any issues with the cables.
Is it possible to just take some paperclips and roll them around the pins and connect the pins into a standard AC cable?
