We have a hub and spoke design network with fibre uplinks etc between switches built on juniper so it is normally pretty solid bit the server guy always wants to blame network speed.
What is a good way to test performance? I was thinking ipref on a laptop in a room/office connecting to ipref server running on the blades but this is dependent on server disk writes etc
Is there a way I could run a VM on blades with a ram disk to show actual connection speed etc instead of the bottle knecks like disk/cpu etc?
In the results I want to see 1gb when no one else is on network for example!
Edit:. So looks like I was wrong about ipref, maybe I'm not understanding the flags, anyone have standard flags they use to validate a 1gb network?
