Ekahau, Mac OS X and VMWare

Hello there,

I'm a MBP user, and I have ESS 10 installed on Mac OS X, but I have issues with using the USB NIC (they just don't work, I can see them mounting on the OS, but not usable).

So, I figured, why not try to see if I can get the dongles working on Windows, from a VM.

Troubles started there, I just couldn't figured out how to connect at least one USB NIC to the Windows 10 VM (using VMWare Fusion 11-ish). There never is the pop up to chose on which OS I want to connect the device, which is quite surprising.

I checked in the USB&Bluetooth settings and the NICs aren't there, so it's not a default settings.

The two USB NICs I have are 2 x COMFAST CF-912AC, one is the COMFAST version, the other one is the Ekahau Survey Adapter.

When I plug them, they automatically get listed in my NICs on Mac OS X, but weirdly, I can't connect to any SSID with it.

Do you guys had by any (lack of) luck ever got this kind of issue ?

Thank you for your help,

F.
