It is the first time I experience this after installing more than a hundred 2960x switches.
I installed stacking modules on two 2960x switches in order to stack them. Connected both stacking cables. Powered on the second switch. But then it kept rebooting. I checked the logs:
.Mar 5 18:41:33: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:41:33: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 2 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:41:34: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:41:35: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:41:36: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:41:39: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:41:41: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:41:44: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:41:51: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:41:52: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:41:53: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:41:55: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:41:56: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:41:57: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:41:58: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:41:59: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:42:01: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:42:02: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:42:03: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:42:05: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state UP .Mar 5 18:42:06: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 1 has changed to state DOWN .Mar 5 18:42:07: %STACKMGR-4-SWITCH_REMOVED: Switch 2 has been REMOVED from the stack
Port 1 keeps alternating between UP and DOWN state. As soon as I unplug port 1, the second switch stop rebooting and the stack is OK. I replaced the stacking cables and the stacking modules. But the same problem reminds. Right now the stack is running with just one stacking cable, but I would really like to fix this. Anyone had a similar situation?
Both switch are running same OS version
