we had an outage with Comcast yesterday. They confirmed this morning that is it resolved but my office is still down. It is Comcast business modem into ASA5510 then to a Cisco switch. Comcast can get into modem and reach internet however if I take my laptop and connect it into modem i get no internet access. On my ASA I can ping the switch connected and ping 8.8.8.8. On the switch I cannot ping 8.8.8.8 but can ping the inside interface on ASA. Confirmed with comcast The IP ranges are the same and what I have assigned is correct from the outside interface to the route outside gateway.
I am still thinking it is a Comcast issue but being able to ping 8.8.8.8 from asa is giving me 2nd thoughts
