I have looked up OSPF process ID in multiple CCNA books but none of them seem to clearly explain it's purpose/function. All i know as of now is that it is only locally significant (unlike OSPF area id) & we can have multiple process ID's defines on same router.
Can someone clearly explain it's significance & purpose and how it works together with OSPF area id?
