Mid-life crisis - I'm not real.

Here's the deal - I work for a multi-million dollar international company as the only Network Engineer/IT guy and, apparently, I have no idea WTF I'm doing, especially inside of a command line. I got this job through a friend who has since retired and we've quadrupled in size to around 100 on-site employees and I have to "manage" 9 servers across several locations. Most of this was setup when I got here, I just added more to it. What exactly are you guys doing when you "manage" a network or servers? I set it and forget it unless I have to restart it - don't shame me. Over the last 6 years I've learned a lot(considering I knew nothing), but apparently I haven't been learning the right things to get a real job out there as a network engineer. I have no idea how everything is still running. I copy and paste the settings that were here when I arrived and I google the answers I don't know. Most of my time is spent helping people with e-mail problems and setting up new users. I recently made a resume because I'm barely making over 30k and I started thinking I was more valuable than this, but now I'm not so sure. I was thinking about getting my CCNA or MSCE, but I'm open to suggestions. Having unhindered access to all our systems, what are some things I probably don't know that might help me?
