I have been given the task to clean up this mess https://i.imgur.com/5sr8RzU.jpg and have come upon a few issues and wonder how you guys feel would be a good course of action. I also have just picked up a 42u cabinet for installation.
Method 1: Take the existing wires from the current patch panels and put keystones on them then extend the cables into the cabinet and hook back into a patch panel.
Downside to this is that the keystones are exposed and can be disconnected easily but could be fixed by using a lock box.
Method 2: Keep existing patch panel and picked up a pass through patch panel but costs are getting high and still have security issues.
I was thinking of use the unused cables but unfortunately the pass through area for the cabinet is at the bottom so cables aren't long enough.
Thoughts? Something I didn't think of?
Thanks
