Is there a way to create hybrid SND/non-SDN network using mininet?

I'm trying to create a legacy (traditional) network and then replace some nodes with SDN switches to test the performance. I tried mininet and found that it only supports SDN. Is there a workaround or anything I'm missing to create hybrid networks? Thanks :)
