ISP site-to-site VPN scam?

Is it just me or there's something fishy with our local ISP? Seems I'm unable to configure site-to-site vpn from our main office (business fiber) and our site office (4G router). I can't even ping the public IP of the site office. But then they have this offering of IPVPN to connect all our site offices. Am I just a noob or is this really marketing scams of ISPs?

Installing VMware tools on FTDv

I have FTDv with Firepower and it's connected to FMC - VMware appliance - On the VMware side it says VMware tools not installed - I checked on FMC I can only see the option to install VMware tools on FMCv instance itself and not the FTDv managed by it

Both devices have PLR licenses and latest version 7.x

Any idea how to get VMware tools installed to improve performance?

Meraki DNS through Mimecast?

Hello... We have 150 remote offices running on Meraki network stacks and were hoping to route DNS through Mimecast similar to Cisco Umbrella. Does anyone have experience with this setup? The one caveat is that our ISP services are dynamic IP. Can you use the firewall public hostname instead of the public IP?

LAG to ISP

Do ISPs typically offer lag connections? I’d assume no. Just wondering because my boss is pushing me to setup a multi chassis lag on the edge. This is in response to a purchase recommendation I gave them for a more resilient edge switch.

vEdge and Core P2P high latency?

Hi All,
I would like to seek your inputs regarding the issue with latency on Point-to-point connection under service vpn. We have vEdge in where the Cisco core 1 and 2 switch is connected.. At the time of the issue, I'm seeing that latency increased at approx. 300ms which normally is just below 10ms.

Issue is gone now and connection is back to normal... Just thinking what could go wrong? it is unlikely that both core switches are having issues and now pointing to vEdge..

Any inputs on what issue can potentially affect the issue? Possible on L2 or L3 of the service VPN? 

Making a /22 workstation subnet, what do you think?

What is your thoughts having a big subnet mask that big for endpoints?

I have a static route but I don't see it in the routing table. Why?

I ask out of curiosity. What cases do you know of where there is no static route in the routing table, even though it is added in the configuration.

WAN Switch Port Flapping Issue

So we have this Ciena Switch that goes out to the ISP (Comcast) which is directly connected to our WAN Switch. The issue is that on the Solar winds we see logs on the WAN switch (which is 2 stack SWs) that is reporting port flapping on this directly connected port to Ciena switch. In simple terms, ISP port goes down and comes back up in a matter of 20-30 secs. This happens throughout the day. However, throughput is very consistent. No problems so far with the connectivity it is meeting SLA. No users reporting any connection issue. Also the Firewalls dont report any such behavior.

Has anyone faced the same issue with Ciena Switch systems? Or is this a Solar winds/Syslog reporting issue. Please shed some light if you faced the same at work, enterprise data centers.

Anxiety

Hello ,

I struggle with imposter syndrome . I also get panic attack when I am unable to trouble shoot a network issue. I think about losing my job and my mind goes into endless chatter bringing up different scenarios.

Anyone have suggestion as to how I go about troubleshooting calmly . Are you all cool as a cucumber when there is a troubleshooting call with client/customer on the other end.

Sometimes I wonder if I need to go into another field.any suggestions is appreciated.
